BUB Prices are a Crime                                                                                 By Seth Flesch        3/22/01

Anyone who knows anything about college students knows we are always broke.  We are always looking for good deals, especially for food, which we constantly consume.  On our campus, however, it is extremely difficult to eat a good meal without breaking open the piggy bank.  Because of the dining halls’ odd hours, many students are forced to eat at the BUB, where a meal costs an arm and a leg.
All I want when I go the the BUB is a salad and a hamburger.  When I get there, my mind suddenly changes.  Seeing the small chicken salad for four dollars and the hamburger for tow dollars, a Pop-Tart for 95 cents looks a bit more affordable.  So, I’m stuck with an unhealthy, unsatisfying, and still overpriced meal.
Let’s say I want a piece of pizza.  Unhealthy? Yes. Tasty? Most definitely.  Overpriced?  At the BUB, definitely.  A $1.50 for a slice of pizza is ridiculous.  We should be able to get a piece of pizza and a drink for that much.  As if the University doesn’t already charge enough for tuition, they have to overcharge us for food.
It’s ridiculous how much the BUB charges us.
