Face/Off: The Puff Daddy Trial                                                  By Vernon Cox and Ryan Buell         3/22/01

The Puff Daddy trial is over.  The right decision has been made.  It was pretty obvious that Puffy committed none of the crimes he was accused of that night at that club.  If you’ve ever seen Puffy in interviews or heard his music, you know he really isn’t a violent man.
If you’ve seen his music and his interviews, he really isn’t a tough guy.  Even when he tried to act tough, you’d laugh at how silly he looked.  The trial was basically a show trial.      The prosecution brought out so many witness to testify against Puffy.  It was obvious that the only thing moving them to do this was their hope on somehow cashing in on this whole disastrous incident.  these witnesses have about as much credibility as Bill Clinton getting caught in a strip club and saying he was just using the phone.
What makes it more obvious is that a lot of these people are trying to sue Puffy for everything he’s worth now.  The prosecutor in the case is infamous for his commitment to getting famous Hip-Hop artists thrown behind bars.  He’s brought cases against Jay-Z and the late 2Pac.
Puffy presented a great case and won what has been a hard fought battle for him.  He had everything against him.  A biased media, a bloodthirsty Attorney General, and people working behind the scenes who wanted him to fall.  In the end, he came out of it the winner.  Best of luck for the future P-Diddy.

CONS
Ryan Buell

It’s not that I want Puff Daddy, P. Diddy or whatever the hell he calls himself to go down because he’s black, as many people argue.  Race has nothing to do with this.  The man is guilty, that’s why I want him to go to jail.  May I remind you people that Puff Daddy, excuse me, P. Diddy was involved in the death of Tupac Shukar, and there is strong evidence to support that there was a rivalry between Diddy’s studio and Shukar’s label?
You know what P. Diddy is?  He’s a modern day gangster.  The Government won’t stand up to him, to police are afraid to touch him and victims fear ratting him out.  After all, we remember how he beat is producer up a few years ago.  And what did he get?  He was sentenced to one day of anger rehabilitation.
Now, just last week, P. Diddy was arrested for driving an unlicensed vehicle.  This is a man who feels he has no fear for the law, and no respect towards anyone.  This man hired Satan himself, Johnny Cockran to defend him, so what does that say about P. Diddy?  However, I’m not the least bit worried, because in the end, justice will prevail, and God will get the last laugh.  Just look at OJ.  He’s a laughingstock, no make that broke-as-a-joke laughingstock.  As for P. Diddy, it’s only a matter of time until Diddy follows OJ’s footsteps and makes home videos, arguing why he’s innocent.
